Programs

Reading, Writing, Math

The Education Centre offers an accredited special education program by qualified teaching staff who are treatment team members of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program.  The Education Centre also serves clients in Adult Psychiatry and Seniors Mental Health.

Based on test results or informal probes, individualized instructional goals are established for each client.  The emphasis is on functional cognitive rehabilitation that addresses the areas of memory, attention, language, reading, mathematics, writing and executive functioning. The program may be offered both individual and in-group.

In addition to "paper and pen" exercises, activities may include computer training and participation in group sessions such as Current Events.  The Education Centre can also offer academic instruction or assist clients to enroll in the Alberta Distance Learning Center for credit completion.
